We are Web3 Summit: Community vibes and Women in Web3, NFT NYC Satellite Event Highlights
The beauty about NFT NYC was not just the conference but the absolute buzz of activities happening in and around NYC! One massive highlight for our team was attending the satellite event We are Web3 Summit, hosted by our friends Meta Angels.
There were many “fangirl” moments for the DHB team, especially as our Founder, Angel Pui has been an active Meta Angels community member since January.

We loved meeting Allyson, Alex, and Michelle of the Meta Angels project, which harnesses the metaverse to unlock real life opportunities and was founded on the values of generosity, transparency, and accessibility.
It was also a major highlight to meet with Mai of Curious Addys whose passion about bringing more women into the crypto space is directly in line with our mission at Diamond HandBag Club! Angel even had the opportunity to explain to Mai how she had helped onboard her into the space back in October and now here we are in June with DHB. It was a truly special moment to see the Master proud of her student and a real life example of something the Web3 community regularly shouts about.
Previously, we wrote that during NFT NYC, we felt there was a long way left to go for women in web3 - but at this satellite event it was like being somewhere within the Marvel Multiverse - it was still very much NYC at the same time and NFT NYC but the voices and message from female empowerment was loud and inspired.
Our key takeaway from the event was from the discussion on community from the team at Truth Labs (GoblinTown/Illuminati). Although this topic was covered in nearly every discussion we attended - here, it really rang with the truth and was so incredibly actionable and meaningful. Firstly, they drove home the point of doing things differently for your community. Next, pick and choose what to do and most importantly what not to do. We also loved the advice to embrace your rebellious nature - the Web3 industry thrives on a thread of rebelliousness. Finally, the future is in the puzzle, hidden clues and riddles. We love this and we will certainly be dropping some cryptic clues and easter eggs in the DHB Genesis Drop coming soon!
Finally, we’re still hyped on the We Are Web3 Swag Bag which literally hit on another level. All attendees will get a custom, personalized NFT which includes personal portraits from photographers Diaja and Becky Yee plus each NFT will have a hand drawn overlay from our Meta Angels artist Aslan Ruby. It’s such a memorable, beautiful personal touch and we loved the top quality execution!
Overall, the We Are Web3 Summit hosted by Meta Angels was powerful, uplifting and a inspired collaboration from the key OG females in Web3 and we can't wait for more of these magic moments with our favourite communities ✊
